June 2017 - IINSIGHT Enhancements to Windows and Mac Addons
The new iinsight office add-ons for both Mac and Windows contain much more additional functionality including:
New notification when documents are opened simultaneously.
Document integrity in case of lost internet connection.
User friendly variables List.
The addons and variables lists are now 2 separate applications, so the variables list can remain open and do not close when a document is closed.
New Office Addon for Windows:
The new version of Office Addon for Windows is going to have a lot more functionality than the previous one.
The highlights of the new office addon for Windows are as below:
Once a file is opened, the file will be locked to other users of iinsight® and you get a notification message.
If you do not wish to open a ‘locked file’ as ‘read-only’ and choose ‘Notify when available’, you will receive a notification when the file has been closed by the previous user and is now ‘unlocked’.
Once a file is saved and closed any changes will be reflected on iinsight® copy.
The Template variable application is now built in as a separate application and no longer embedded within Microsoft Office.
You can ‘drag and drop’ variables into documents or choose ‘Copy to Clipboard’ then paste.
When you close the document - the variables list still stays open as it is not embedded within Office anymore.
The Template variable application will allow dragging and dropping of variables into documents or ‘Copy to clipboard’ and paste.
Lost internet connection - once a file is opened and a user loses internet connection, any saved changes will automatically upload to iinsight® once the internet connection is restored.
Please see the below screenshots for more information:

Lost Internet Connection
When you lose your internet connection you are able to sync the file to the server once the connection is back and whatever you type into the document is saved (after you select Save and Close).
After regaining internet connectivity you got a message advising the document has been synched to iinsight as below:
If a user loses their internet connection and another user opens the same document and edits, saves and closes the document. When the original user regains their internet access and saves and closes their document - a new document id of the same document is created and saved on the case, therefore no work is lost and both documents have different document id’s.

You can also make the Variables list open in columns if you drag it to the right (from the bottom right hand corner):
