Using the Iinsight Variables
Updated over 6 months ago

The iinsight template variables are available as an addon for Windows and Macs and are used to quickly and easily add variables, that are used in the iinsight system, to a Word, excel, or PowerPoint document, etc that can then be uploaded to iinsight and populated with information automatically by the iinsight system (provided that information has been entered into the corresponding fields in iinsight).

The iinsight templates for Windows or Mac can be downloaded for PC or MAC from within the iinsight system while logged in, click on the Help menu:

Once installed the iinsight template variables will become available to use as a separate application.

After installation the iinsight Templates can be found from the Start/All Programs menu as per the below example in Windows 7:

iinsight_templates.bmp

By opening the iinsight templates variables list and selecting a variable a description of what that variable pertains to will be displayed, it can then be added to the document by dragging and dropping it or clicking Copy to clipboard and paste:

The variable will be placed where the cursor was positioned on the document:

Upload the document with all required variable fields filled in and the iinsight system will populate them with the data for the case it is currently used in.

Note: See the 'Adding Document Templates' section for details on how to correctly configure document templates on the iinsight system.

** If you encounter issues opening documents after a Windows update check that Windows is using the correct file association for the iinsight addon (see 'File Association Fix' documentation).
