Autosave feature on Windows Add-on only

The new Windows version of the iinsight Add-on also has an Autosave feature.

In addition to enhancing security measures, we've introduced a highly sought-after feature that enables automatic document recovery. Unforeseen incidents, such as PC malfunctions, crashes, or Wi-Fi disconnections, can happen at any time. Anticipating these situations, we've implemented the functionality to restore your document.

Please note that this auto-recovery feature is designed to operate only in abnormal situations, such as PC crashes and internet disconnects, provided that the document has not been closed without saving.

For the Auto recovery feature to work, Auto recovery has to be enabled in MS-Word via File>Options>Save>Tick “Save Auto Recovery information every X minutes”

You’ll receive the below message:

And the option to save the file locally on your PC.

The document will be locked for 20 minutes as a preventive measure to avoid any unintentional overrides of the document, preventing any modifications by other users. In the meantime, if the internet is restored and the document is still open, editing the document can be continued as normal, alternatively if the document was closed a recovered file is then created with the last Auto-saved content.

You’ll see the below message to notify a recovered document has been created. The recovered document has the same name as the original file (recovered) to inform this is a recovered file.
