Recovering unsaved Microsoft Word Documents from your Local PC
Sometimes for various reasons your document may not save to iinsight, perhaps if your internet connectivity was lost in a remote area, or your iinsight session timed out (and the link was lost) and you continued working on the document already open on your desktop etc
In these situations usually a temporary copy of the document is saved to your local pc.
To check this, please follow the below steps with screenshots:
On your Windows PC – please go to the File Explorer icon as below:
Double click on the File Explorer icon
Select This PC (or My PC)
Then double click your C: (Local Drive)
Then double click on the “Users” Folder
Select your own name from the list of names.
You may then need to go to the “View” tab in “File Explorer” and tick the “Hidden Items” checkbox if not already ticked:
Then a Folder called “App Data” should appear:
Double click the “App Data” folder
Then Double click the “Roaming” folder:
Then Double click the “Microsoft” Folder:
Then Double click the “Word” folder
You may then see Auto Recovery options to retrieve recent unsaved Word documents to your local PC as per the below example:
You may also see an option to “Recover unsaved documents” in your recent Word Documents if you open a Word document on your PC at the foot of your recent Word Documents list:
