File Associations Fix for Mac
IMPORTANT: Please ensure you meet the minimum requirements for Mac: OS version 10.10 or above And Office 2011 or above.
Sometimes on an Apple machine it keeps trying to use the wrong application (such as MS Word) to open our .iin files, instead of using the add-on. To resolve this we just need to set the “file associations” manually on your computer so it knows which application to use.
For Mac OSX devices there are 2 different ways on which this can be set, both outlined below.
OPTION 1 - .iin MAC OSX FILE ASSOCIATION FIX via OPEN WITH
1) The first of these is to find the .iin file that isn't opening correctly in your Downloads folder, right-click on the .iin file, and select "Open with" then "Other":
2) Next, browse through the list of your Applications to find the iinsight Launcher. Once you have selected the iinsight Launcher, check the box for Always Open With, and then click Open
NOTE: If you cannot select the iinsight Launcher app (and it is greyed out) in your apps list, you can change the view to "all installed applications" under the "Enable" drop down which then should allow you to select the iinsight Launcher correctly.
The .iin file should now open correctly using the iinsight Launcher add-on.
OPTION 2 - .iin MAC OSX FILE ASSOCIATION FIX via GET INFO
1) Alternatively should the above not be an available option or is difficult to perform, another way is to again find the .iin file in your Downloads folder and right-click on the file .iin file, but this time select Get Info:
2) Click the down arrow for Open with, click the drop-down menu to choose the default app and select the iinsight Launcher, and then click Change All to always associate .iin file types with the add-on app:
The .iin file should now open correctly using the iinsight Launcher add-on.
If you still experience any issues after performing the above or get stuck at any stage please don't hesitate to contact a member of your local support team.
