Document Templates Overview
Updated over 8 months ago

The 'Templates' interface allows the user to search, create, edit, and delete document templates that are utilized by users to generate documents within the iinsight system. This interface is split into two sections, comprised of the 'Templates List' displayed in the left-hand pane and the 'Template Preview' window displayed in the right-hand pane.

The Template Preview Window displays an interactive preview of the selected template which the user can view in detail and navigate freely. This functionality requires that Adobe Acrobat Reader, or Adobe Acrobat is installed on the user's computer in order to function. Adobe Acrobat Reader is available to be downloaded free of charge from http://www.adobe.com.

The 'Templates List' displayed in the left-hand pane of the 'Templates' interface offers administrative functionality through the interface controls detailed below.

The 'New' Button

Used to open the New Template interface, where a template can be added. It will require a name and description before uploading the file. This document file will serve as the template for the Iinsight system and made available to users.

The 'Delete' Button

Used to delete the template that is currently selected in the list.

The 'Open' Button

Used to open the currently selected template in the associated Microsoft Office application. This template can then be edited as required before being saved to the Iinsight system - the changes made to the template will be immediately available to all users generating documents. It is important to note that any document previously generated and saved based on this template will not be retroactively altered by this change.

The 'Edit' Button

Used to edit the name and description of the currently selected document. These details can be changed instantly at any time from within the Iinsight system and do not require that the document be opened in Microsoft Office.

The 'Display' Drop-down Filter.

Used to filter the templates displayed in the Template list based on their format. This is useful if the user exclusively requires templates in a spreadsheet or document format.

The 'Search' Interface

Comprised of the 'Search Terms Box', the 'Condition Filter Drop-down', and the 'Find' button, these three interface controls are used together to determine the specific criteria required and filter the entire template list.

The 'Fields Edit' Button

This button is used to determine the fields displayed for each case currently shown in the template list.

The 'Export' Button

This button is used to Export the complete listed Templates in the Excel file
