Reports Overview
Updated over 7 months ago

The 'Reports List' provides a range of reports based on the information stored in iinsight. It is split into two portions, with the left-hand column containing a list of the available reports and the right-hand column determining the criteria of each report - these criteria will change depending on the report selected. The complete list of available reports is displayed below. The permissions to view these are set in the Admin menu.

Report Profiles

A "profile" can be set up by the user to allow:

  1. a report selection to be saved with a unique name,

  2. the saved report can then be 'loaded' and the saved criteria will be displayed automatically,

  3. set the currently selected report profile as the default, or

  4. delete the currently selected report profile.

A report profile contains a complete array of settings for the currently selected report. For example, a user may load a profile titled 'Team A, all employees, bill to Company B' - this profile would contain saved settings to generate the selected report for all employees in Team A, for which the billing is to be made to Company B.

Select a profile from the drop-down list and click "Load" to load a saved report setup or create a new profile by setting up the report first then type a name in the profile drop-down box and click "Save", which will allow you to load the same setup next time quickly.

Report Graphs

Some reports include graphs to view statistics, if they include graphs they will have the graph pie chart symbol:

Note: Graphs cannot be exported to PDF.

Other

The Selectable Filters Step

This step will allow the user to determine a number of criteria required for, or relevant to the selected report. This will typically consist of determining the teams, employees, and companies which will be used to filter the report information.

The Time Frame Step

Usually last stage of generating the report. It allows the user to determine the selected time frame for the report. This is important, as the majority of reporting requirements are time-sensitive.

Other Details

Depending on the nature of the report, the required information can be subject to change. For example, it may be necessary to specify the units in which given values such as time are reported. When this is the case the iinsight system will provide details to the user on what is required and will allow this to be specified through the same right-hand pane of the reports interface as for other reports.

When the report generation settings have been configured as required, clicking the 'Build' button at the bottom of the 'Reports' interface will generate the specific report to be displayed to the user. This report can be sorted, printed or exported to Word, Excel or PDF formats.
